A catalog broker who works for the artist, not for the buyer.
Catalogs are selling for 10 to 25 times their annual royalties, and the funds doing the buying work through brokers. Fashion Morgan works out what yours is worth, then takes it to buyers under NDA and handles the negotiation. Every decision stays yours.

The market
Your catalog has never been worth more.
Streaming turned old releases into steady, predictable income, which is exactly what investment funds want to own. They are buying catalogs the way they buy property.
Spent buying catalogs in recent years.
Annual net royalties. The usual range for an active catalog. Streaming growth and sync history push it higher.
Songs. Size is not the test. If the catalog earns, it can be valued.
The figures above are industry estimates from Fashion Morgan's artist guide. Your number comes from your own royalty statements.

Who you are dealing with
The one person in the room who works for you.
Fashion Morgan has brokered music catalogs for more than six years, across every genre and at every size. He does not publish music and he does not sign artists. His job is to price your catalog and then get you the best terms from a buyer who wants it.
The money is coming from labels, publishers, investment funds and private buyers, and none of them will knock on your door. They buy through brokers.
"I work for you, not for them. I only get paid when you get paid, at closing, from the proceeds."
- 01Relationships
Labels, funds, and private buyers actively acquiring catalogs.
- 02Speed
You will not wait years for a closing.
- 03Best price
He argues for every dollar of the valuation.
- 04Full service
From the valuation through to closing, he handles the work.
How a deal works
Five steps. No fine print.
What happens between the first call and closing day. Nothing about your catalog goes to anyone without your written consent.
Free discovery call
Fifteen minutes on your catalog, what you want from it, and what a deal could look like. It costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
15 minutesCatalog valuation
He goes through your streaming data and royalty income against current demand and comes back with a valuation range and a recommended approach.
7 business daysBuyer outreach
He puts together a confidential package and sends it to a short list of serious buyers. It is never mass mailed, and your identity stays protected.
Under NDAOffers and negotiation
Every qualified offer comes to you with his analysis and a recommendation. Then he negotiates for the best terms.
You decideDiligence and closing
He guides you through the buyer's document requests, reviews the agreement with your attorney, and coordinates the closing. Then the funds are transferred to you.
Paid at closingYou both sign an NDA before anything moves. His commission comes out of the closing proceeds, so if nothing closes, you owe nothing.
Deal structures
Selling does not have to mean walking away.
The structure follows what you want, whether that is money now while keeping a stake, or the most cash up front.
Full catalog sale
Complete transfer of publishing and/or master rights for a lump sum, which gives you the most money up front.
Partial catalog sale
Sell a percentage of your rights and keep the rest, so you get capital now and stay invested.
Royalty interest sale
Sell a share of future royalty income only, and you keep ownership.
Co-publishing or admin deal
Keep full ownership and take an advance against future publishing income. This suits artists who are still releasing.
Estate representation
For heirs, estates, and trustees: valuing a legacy catalog and placing it with the right buyer.

Before you sign anything
What artists ask, and what the terms mean.
Questions
Will I lose my music forever? +
Not necessarily. Plenty of deals include royalty-back provisions, co-ownership clauses, or creative approval rights, and a partial sale means you still earn from the work. The structure gets built around your situation.
I'm not sure I'm ready to sell. +
You do not need to be. The valuation is free, and it tells you what the catalog is worth and what a deal could look like. If you decide to sell later, the groundwork is already done.
How do I know this is legit? +
You both sign an NDA at the start. Nothing about your catalog or who you are goes to anyone without your written consent. Fashion is paid at closing, out of the proceeds, so there are no upfront fees and no retainers.
What if I already have a manager or lawyer? +
They stay. Your manager looks after your interests and your lawyer reviews the agreement. Fashion brings the buyers and runs the negotiation.
What's the cut? +
A commission, agreed up front and paid at closing out of the proceeds. If the deal does not close, you owe nothing.
Terms, plainly
- License vs. full sale
A licence for a set term (say, five years) lets a company monetise your catalog while you keep ownership and rights revert at the end. A full sale transfers ownership permanently.
- Revenue split
70/30 in your favour means you receive 70% of everything the catalog earns: streams, downloads, sync placements. Generally a strong split for an artist.
- Recoupable advance
Money at signing that the company recovers from your share of future earnings before royalty payments start. After recoupment, your full percentage kicks in.
- NPS multiplier
Market value expressed as a multiple of annual Net Publishing Income, usually 10 to 25x for active catalogs.
- "Catalog expansion"
A promise to "double your reach" is a projection, not a guarantee. Get specific performance commitments written into the agreement.
